Avenues of Art The studio space is organized in centers, allowing the children to choose from various activities each week and to work at their own pace with their parents or care-givers. In addition to the art projects, children will enjoy socializing with one another as they play with art related developmental toys. Classes will wind down with a story that correlates with the theme or art concept for the day. One adult must stay and participate with the child.

What is your favorite scary story? Autumn is a wonderful time to investigate things that go bump in the night. Artists will create creepy spiders making a web and haunted houses with spooky ghosts. An unsettling fall sunset and funny monsters will bring imaginations to life. Artists will use exciting new art materials as they paint, collage, and print in this season of fun and surprises. l l l

Artists will be inspired by adventures in children's literature, then they'll create artwork related to the story. They’ll collage Rainbow Fish, paint a Wild Thing, print, sculpt, and draw. Our 5 to 9 year olds will constantly build on their knowledge of, and ability with, various media.
WACKY
PERSPECTIVES
Can you imagine seeing the world from different points of view? Artists will draw, paint, print, collage, and sculpt the world as they see it from a variety of perspectives, including a large world from a bug’s view and outerspace from an alien’s view. They'll explore the earth from a bird's aerial view, the sea from a fish's view, and a tiny world from a giant’s view. Experience the world in a unique way! l l l

PEOPLE, PLACES, AND THINGS

While our classes for ages 8 to 12 continue to
encourage exploration with a variety of art media, the focus will be
on more advanced materials, techniques, and art-making skills.
MIXED MEDIA MEDLEY Tuesdays, Sept. 16, 23, 30 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Studio Fee: $80 Artists will use advanced techniques and a medley of paint, chalk, glue, paper, wire, cardboard, and found objects to create unique works of art, including cityscapes and self-portraits. l l l
WILD WATERCOLORS
Tuesdays, Oct. 7, 14, 21 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Studio Fee: $80 Artists will explore watercolor techniques such as masking, washing, and wet-on-wet techniques. They'll experiment with plastic wrap, salt, and tissue paper to create wonderfully wild paintings. l l l
